There are many online tools that offer hiker unprecedented access to the the legislative process.

  • The White House homepage displays up-to-date information from the President, and links to Administrative offices like the Office of Management and Budget and the Council on Environmental Quality that are of interest to hikers.
  • THOMAS is a legislative database maintained by the Library of Congress.  It contains comprehensive information about legislation.
  • The homepage for the United States House of Representatives contains information about House history, individual Representatives, House Committees, and House Schedule.
  • The homepage for the United States Senate contains information about Senate history, individual Senators, Senate Committees, and Senate Schedule
  • The homepage for Data.gov is the access point to a comprehensive catalog of government data resources.
  • The United States Federal Register is the official daily publication for rules, proposed rules, and notices of Federal agencies and organizations, as well as executive orders and other presidential documents
