Southeastern Foot Trails Coalition Mission
The Southeastern Foot Trails Coalition seeks to promote and protect the Southeast's long distance foot trails and connect those trails and their natural corridors by building a regional trail system and an active network of hiking organizations. A coalition of hiking clubs constitutes the Southeast Trails Program. Members assist each other in implementing a common vision of a southeast regional foot trail system that is:
- Fully walkable
- Receives support from a strong cadre of volunteer organizations
- Permanently protected, known and loved in the hiking community and beyond
Southeastern Foot Trails Coaliton Shared Values
- Endorse the mission and pledge to support it
- Be a functioning trail maintenance or building group
- Have hiking as a primary focus
- Be willing to give their time. There is no membership fee or other costs.
- Have a geographic focus in at least one of the following states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia.
