ENJOY THE CONSERVATION SYSTEM

One of the best ways to appreciate the unique resources of the newest system of public lands in America is to go out and take a hike on one of the many different units that comprise the BLM's Conservation System.

Best Rivers and Trails
American Hiking Society partnered with American Rivers to produce a "top 10" list of our favorite floats and hikes. Explore some of our favorite hikes and floats in the BLM's Conservation System. Here, you'll find descriptions of rivers teeming with wild salmon, trails that offer opportunities to see the northern lights and plenty of great pictures to fuel your planning for your next hike.

Hike the Conservation System
Coastline Hikers Check back soon for an in-progress database of all the trails in the BLM's conservation System. You can search by State, difficulty, distance or many other trail characteristics. Be patient! Since the 26 million acre National Landscape Conservation System contains more than 10,000 miles of trails in 12 states, this database is under construction. Starting with Oregon, we'll add a new state''s worth of trails every month or so. Check back often for updates and highlighted trails.

Enjoy Conservation System Trails Responsibly
Hiking is a fun and responsible form of recreation that allows you to appreciate and interact with all the unique resources of the BLM's Conservation System without damaging them. Read Leave No Trace's Seven Principles to ensure that you will leave all of BLM's great trails as you found them.
