SUMMARY:Bob Marshall Wilderness
DESCRIPTION:Come join fellow stewards in working in the most pristine Wilderness areas in the lower 48. The Iconic Bob Marshall Wilderness is the crown jewel of the Rocky Mountains. And all good things are worth some effort! The same goes for the hike into base camp for this project. The hike begins at Owl Creek trailhead and hikes up\, up\, and over pendant pass\, on the Swan Crest. After the pass\, it’s downhill to basecamp near Pendant camp. This remote trail needs some helping hands improve the trail bed (tread) and build a new turnpike. The views will be well worth the effort! The Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation provides a crew leader\, tools and PPE\, food\, pack support and all the group gear. You just need to bring your personal backpacking equipment and a ‘can do’ attitude.

SUMMARY:Bob Marshall Wilderness
DESCRIPTION:Join fellow Wilderness stewards for some good times in the legendary Bob Marshall Wilderness! Volunteers will meet AHS crew leader Saturday night in Hungry Horse and camp at the Ranger Station. The next morning you will meet the BMWF Crew Leader to caravan the hour drive to the trailhead. After sorting gear and supplies for the packer and shouldering your backpack\, you will hike the 11 miles into camp. Base camp will be on the banks of the mighty Middle Fork in the Great Bear Wilderness. Monday- Thursday volunteers will work on the trails around the remote Three Forks area. Clearing fallen trees and reestablishing the trail bed (tread) will be the primary focus. Crosscuts\, pulaskis\, shovels\, and hand saws will be the tools of choice. After work\, relax by the river\, pick huckleberries\, or fish the Wild and Scenic Middle Fork! There is also a day off mid week to explore the area and bag a peak! Friday the group will pack up and hike back out to the trailhead and civilization. BMWF will provide all food\, tools\, and group gear. \nMeet the Crew Leader for this trip.
