NEW National Recreation Trails Announced Ahead of National Trails Day
June, 2014 – On June 6, 2014, Sally Jewell, Secretary of the Interior, designated 21 trails as National Recreational Trails (NRTs). These trails were designated as National Recreation Trails because they are exemplary trails of local and regional significance. Through designation, these trails are recognized as part of America’s national system of trails.
