American Hiking Society challenges you to make 2017 the year you spend more time getting active outside. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of National Trails Day, people from across the USA pledge to Hike 25 miles or 25 trails in 2017.
Beyond getting to spend more time outdoors, there is an additional feel-good component to the Hike 25 challenge. Participants pledge to Hike 25 and raise funds for American Hiking Society to help preserve and protect hiking trails. Each participant can log their miles while raising funds to protect trails across the country. We’ve set up an American Hiking Society team fundraising page and invite you to join us and raise funds to protect the places you love to hike! It’s easy to do and takes just 5-10 minutes.
The HIKE 25 Spring Challenge: Everyone who signs up to participate in HIKE 25 and raises $50 receives this sweet wicking American Hiking Society t-shirt (see below). The top HIKE 25 participant that raises the most to help protect trails by National Trails Day, June 3 will win a prize package including a Columbia baseball cap and Klean Kanteen water bottle to take on their next hike!
What are you waiting for – get out there, celebrate spring, and take a hike! Remember, logging your miles and creating a fundraising goal is easy. Follow the steps below.

Make sure to customize it to tell your story. Brag a little! You are spending your time getting healthy outdoors and protecting trails while doing it – you should be proud! Tell your story about why you love the outdoors and what others’ support means to you. Others might not understand why hiking means so much to you and this is your opportunity to tell them- and get a little trail love in return! Under ADVANCED SETTINGS within the EDIT FUNDRAISER tab, you can log your 25 miles/hikes.
C) MANAGE CAMPAIGN – Under this tab you will have access to get the word out to your friends and family. Start promoting your individual fundraising page by sending emails, posting updates, and sharing on social media. Reach out to friends, co-workers, colleagues and family that could support your fundraising efforts. The best way to promote your fundraising page is through the MANAGE CAMPAIGN tab, see snapshot below. Use the link provided under this tab to send to friends and family.
