American Hiking Society collects no personal information about you when you visit this website unless you choose to provide this information, such as answers to survey questions, information collected when joining or renewing, or purchasing American Hiking products, and information collected when contacting us for information. American Hiking also collects general information about website use, such as which pages and sections are most popular with users. No personally identifiable information is collected about individuals without their knowledge.

When and With Whom American Hiking Society Shares Information

American Hiking Society may also share your name and postal address with a third party in order to fulfill your donor benefits, such as a magazine subscription published by a third party.Â
When you register for either our Volunteer Vacations or Alternative Break programs, American Hiking Society may share your name, postal address, email, and phone number with a volunteer crew leader and host organization(s) for the purpose of facilitating your volunteer trip.
When you register for our Hike the Hill program, American Hiking Society may share your name, postal address, email, and phone number with our partner organization(s) for the purpose of facilitating your Hike the Hill events.
You are provided an opportunity to opt out whenever you give online and off-line. Additionally, you have the right to opt out of such information sharing by simply contacting the development team at 1-301-565-6704 or by emailing optout@AmericanHiking.org.
Email Policy
American Hiking Society uses your email for the purposes of furthering American Hiking Society’s mission and may distribute, trade, share or sell your email address.
American Hiking provides forms on-line and off-line where users can sign-up to receive electronic newsletters and alerts, and sign our guestbook. No one is placed on a regular email list that has not requested subscription through these forms or in some other manner.
If you have opted to receive any of our publications by email, you are able at any time to unsubscribe by following the directions in the email publication itself or by contacting American Hiking Society at optout@AmericanHiking.org.
