AKHGTM announced as Exclusive Apparel Sponsor for American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day®
Duluth Trading Co.’s new outdoor apparel brand joins efforts with American Hiking Society to improve trails and trail communities nationwide
Silver Spring, MD — American Hiking Society, a national nonprofit organization empowering all to enjoy, share and preserve the hiking experience, is proud to announce a two-year partnership agreement with AKHGTM, the newest outdoor apparel brand to join the market, as the Exclusive Apparel Sponsor of National Trails Day® for 2022 and 2023.
AKHGTM offers solution-based apparel and outerwear for hiking, fishing, camping and more. The brand aims to provide clothes and gear for those who love the rolled-up-sleeves side of adventure and embrace the work that goes with playing in the wild.
“At Duluth Trading Co., we’re committed to building a better world, two hands at a time,” said Luke Gibson, Director of Marketing, Duluth Trading Co. “We’re excited to roll up our sleeves alongside our partners at American Hiking Society to work to empower those from all walks of life to enjoy and preserve the hiking experience.”
For 30 years, American Hiking Society has hosted National Trails Day®. Taking place on the first Saturday in June, National Trails Day® is a day of public events aimed at advocacy and trail service. Through hosted events in all 50 states, thousands of hikers, bikers, rowers, horseback riders, trail clubs, federal and local agencies, land trusts, and businesses come together in partnership to advocate for, maintain, clean up, and ensure welcoming access for all to public lands and trails.
National Trails Day® 2021 saw 565 registered events across the United States, with over 36,000 participants. Nearly half of these events focused on trail stewardship, with 111 miles of trail maintained and restored thanks to volunteers and event participants.
“Since American Hiking Society’s establishment in 1976 we have improved trail access for millions of people across the US. We’ve maintained over 45,000 miles of trails through our volunteer programs, partnered with emerging leaders in our NextGen Trail Leaders program, and advocated for equitable access to and the protection of public land,” notes Kate Van Waes, Executive Director of American Hiking Society. “We simply could not do this without collaboration from corporate sponsors like AKHG. We are so grateful for their support and look forward to a long-lasting partnership.”
