National Trails Day® 2023 Festivities to Take Place From Coast-to-Coast
An inclusive celebration for hometown trails and the people who love them on June 3, 2023.
Silver Spring, MD – People from across the country will set out on trails and public lands to commemorate the 31st annual American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day® this Saturday, June 3. People of all ages and abilities, along with trail clubs, non-profit organizations, businesses, and land managers, will join forces at hundreds of locations nationwide to promote, enjoy, and improve the magnificent trail system crisscrossing the U.S.
American Hiking, together with the vibrant trails community, warmly welcomes anyone seeking to embrace the great outdoors and connect with their local community this Saturday. Events cater to diverse interests, ranging from family-friendly activities to intensive endeavors, including paddling, horseback riding, biking, walking, and trail service projects. A directory of events can be found on American Hiking’s National Trails Day® webpage. Individuals can even participate in this coast-to-coast celebration on their own if there is not an event in their community.
Anyone who cherishes time out on a trail can get involved in a matter of minutes by taking the 2023 National Trails Day® Pledge to leave the trails and the outdoor community better than they found them. American Hiking will provide simple ways to create a positive impact on trails and public lands in 2023. Everyone who takes the pledge by June 5, 2023, will be entered to win one of four premium gear prize packages valued at $1,500 each.
Additionally, everyone can share their favorite trail moments by tagging #NationalTrailsDay and @AmericanHiking on social media. Content tagged on Instagram will be entered to win four additional gear prize packages for the National Trails Day® Photo Contest.
“Regardless of your experience on the trails, we extend a warm invitation to find an event and join the festivities on Saturday,” expressed Heather Klein Olson, Acting Executive Director of the American Hiking Society. “National Trails Day® offers a remarkable opportunity to get outside for a fun and purposeful day with loved ones and neighbors by contributing to trails and the outdoor community.”
