Wenger Supports American Hiking Society with Drawing for Ellsworth Ride™ Bike
SILVER SPRING, MD – July 25, 2012 – American Hiking Society (AHS) is happy to announce that attendees of the Summer Outdoor Retailer tradeshow in Salt Lake City on August 2 – 5, 2012, will have the chance to support its trail programs by entering a bike giveaway sponsored by Wenger, maker of the Genuine Swiss Army Knife. This promotion is part of Wenger’s new partnership with American Hiking Society, which was established in January at the 2012 Outdoor Retailer Winter Market. The event planned by Wenger for the summer tradeshow is designed to build awareness of American Hiking Society and raise funds for its outdoor recreation, trail stewardship, and public awareness programs.
Wenger will collect $1 donations for American Hiking Society in exchange for entries in its bike giveaway. One lucky tradeshow attendee will be picked as the winner in a drawing at the Wenger booth (#26043) at noon on Saturday, August 4, and will pedal away on an Ellsworth Ride™ Bike. The promotion is certain to be a hit with tradeshow attendees. Ellsworth hand-crafted mountain bikes and The Ellsworth Ride™ have unmatched reputations amongst cycling enthusiasts.
Tradeshow attendees can drop by the Wenger booth at any time during the first two and half days of the show to check out the company’s new gear and enter the drawing, although the winner must be present for the drawing at noon on Saturday. Wenger will send a reminder to entrants via text or email so that they won’t forget to attend the drawing.
“I can’t wait to check out the bike myself,” commented Gregory Miller, President of American Hiking Society. “Wenger’s promotion will not only entertain and inform show attendees but will also simultaneously support our efforts to promote and preserve America’s trails, their surrounding natural areas, and the hiking experience.”
“We’re very happy that we’ve found a creative way to collect donations for American Hiking Society at the tradeshow,” stated Dennis Piretra, VP of Marketing for Wenger North America. “AHS does excellent work, and their passion for promoting hiking in the U.S. is infectious.”
