CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19:

The Letchworth Branch Trail of the Finger Lakes Trail System is a 27 mile long pathway along the Genesee River as it passes through the gorge within Letchworth State Park. This trail is heavily used by hikers, runners, and visitors to the area as it overlooks the gorge and its three waterfalls. The project will involve creating drainages, rerouting and armoring the trail in the most heavily used sections. Waterbars, ditches, and knicks will be used to help in these situations.

Area and Attractions

On your day off, you may just want to partake of Letchworth State Park and its many hiking trails, leading to the numerous waterfalls and scenic sights in the gorge. Almost 70 miles of trail await you! Within an hours drive, you have the National War Museum in Geneseo, NY, whitewater rafting down the Genesee River through the gorge, hot air balloon rides, Six Flags Darien Lake theme park and you are less than 1 hour from Rochester, NY and its many offerings.

Accommodations Description

We will be hosting the crew at the Letchworth State Park Conference Center that has 10 beds among two lofts, a full kitchen and two showers. The conference center is a beautiful facility with a full porch to relax on and listen to the tumble of water as it flows over Middle Falls, a stone's throw away. Volunteers should bring their own linens (twin sized sheets or sleeping bag, pillow, and towel) and personal items.

Airport Pickup Provided from Rochester International Airport. Airport pickup and dropoff times will be sent to registrants when the trip is confirmed.
