TRIP CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19:
Camp on the high plains of central Wyoming. Enjoy the wild west frontier and see what the pioneers of the great American westward expansion saw almost 200 years ago. The Interpretive Natural Trail is a National Recreation Trail and is handicap accessible. In order to maintain this accessibility, trail maintenance must be performed annually including the addition of new gravel/ trail base. Accommodations will be located at the work site, at the Lodgepole Campground within the Environmental Education Area. After work, enjoy a hike to the Beaver Ponds and fish for stocked trout or bring your mountain bike for a fun adventure. The National Historic Trails Interpretive Center will provide an interpretive presentation about historic trail use, bringing the history of American trails to life as we work on modern day trails.
