Black Rock Mountain State Park
March 4, 2018 - March 10, 2018
Trip Navigation
Georgia’s Highest State Park is proud to offer an incredible trail maintenance opportunity on the James E. Edmonds Trail. This 7.2 mile trail will be the primary focus and the crew will help park staff with tread work, bridge rehab, stream crossings and blazing. From the dense rhododendron thickets, to inspiring vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountain Range and relaxing waterfalls, this trail has something special to offer individuals up for the challenge! Volunteers will use a variety of tools for this project including mattocks, shovels, loppers, saws and traditional tools such as hammers and nails. There will be several drop off points on this trail to help minimize carrying tools and supplies to the remote project areas. Volunteers will enjoy this diverse ecosystem and an opportunity to commune with like-minded individuals from different walks of life.
