Join us during the peak of fall foliage in Ohio’s Hocking Hills to relocate the BT off of roads and into Hocking State Forest, Shieck and Little Rocky Hollow State Nature Preserves! Our project consists of new trail construction, re-benching the trail tread, heavy trail maintenance, and vegetation management. Come and leave your mark on one of the most beautiful places our state has to offer!

Area and Attractions

Become immersed in the natural beauty that the Bishop Educational Gardens has to offer. Many learning opportunities, leisurely walks and the lovely atmosphere of the Bishop Educational Gardens backed by the fall foliage makes for a perfect spot to relax and spend a week to detox from the hustle and bustle of our day to day.

Accommodations Description

Volunteers will camp in a field at the Bishop Educational Gardens. The bathrooms will consist of Port-a-Johns, few electrical outlets should they need to charge any personal devices, and there will be a shower tent so that volunteers may take a shower during the week. Volunteers are also welcome to tour the Gardens at their own leisure, take photographs, and walk the trail. The Buckeye Trail Associations own Chuckwagon will be available to make meals for volunteers. Volunteers should bring their own tent, sleeping bag/sleeping pad, cup/bowl/mug/eating utensils, and personal gear.

Travel

Airport Pickup Provided from Columbus International Airport. Airport pickup and dropoff times will be sent to registrants when the trip is confirmed.
